Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Recovery Housing Director to provide leadership of a 60-bed program for adults transitioning from residential treatment. You will supervise staff, oversee governance, budgets, compliance, and service delivery to promote recovery and housing stability.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will drive program performance, partner with funders, manage data, and ensure 24/7 operations with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults in recovery, reentry, or treatment programs (5 years required).
• Leadership experience in a shelter or recovery-oriented environment.
• Strong data literacy and ability to drive program improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and operations.
• Oversee facility renovations and coordinate project timelines for program launch.
• Develop job descriptions, recruit staff, and lead hiring efforts.
• Train and onboard new employees on program expectations and procedures.
• Lead program, administrative, and property operations to ensure 24/7 services.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, grants, regulatory requirements, and Salvation Army standards.
• Manage program budgets, expenses, audits, and financial compliance.
• Oversee data collection, reporting, and system accuracy across multi-reporting systems.
• Lead audits and quality assurance reviews to maintain program compliance.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff performance.
• Monitor staffing coverage, scheduling, and retention; liaison with partners and stakeholders.
