MY House in Wasilla, AK is seeking a Residential Peer Specialist to support residents in a treatment setting on a swing shift. You will draw on your own recovery experience to create a nurturing environment that promotes healing, personal growth, and community involvement.

You will facilitate peer groups, provide coping strategies, document observations for the clinical team, and help residents stay engaged in their treatment plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in social services or mental health preferred.
• Six months or more in recovery; peer support experience is a plus.
• Certified Peer Specialist or willingness to obtain certification if not already held.

Responsabilités

• Engage with participants to provide encouragement, empathy, and understanding based on shared experiences.
• Facilitate peer support groups and workshops to promote sharing, connection, and mutual support.
• Monitor and document participant behavior and communicate observations to the clinical team.
• Observe client self-administration of medications and report concerns to the clinical team.
• Promote a culture of empowerment, respect, and dignity among residents.
