CTS Health in Hickory, NC is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our Community Support Team. You will use lived experience and recovery knowledge to empower individuals toward wellness, independence, and community integration.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to help clients build coping skills, increase self-sufficiency, and work on their Person-Centered Plan. This role emphasizes advocacy, resilience, and helping people thrive in the community.

Qualifications

• Current NC NCCPSS Certification.
• Minimum of one year of peer support experience.
• Understanding of recovery principles and behavioral health.
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to support their recovery and personal goals.
• Encourage self-determination, independence, and active participation in treatment.
• Model recovery-focused values and promote resilience and wellness.
• Provide peer support, coaching, psychoeducation, and skill-building activities.
• Support individuals in developing life skills such as communication, self-advocacy, health awareness, transportation, money management, and community living skills.
• Assist with crisis intervention and relapse prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with the CST team and other service providers to coordinate care.
• Monitor client progress and communicate updates to the treatment team.
• Connect clients with community resources and support services.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and service notes.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, supervision, and person-centered planning activities.
• Help ensure access to crisis response and support services as part of the CST model.
