Job summary

CTSHealth seeks a compassionate Certified Peer Support Specialist to join the Community Support Team in Hickory, NC. You will use lived experience, recovery knowledge, and peer support to empower clients along their wellness journey.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote self-determination, resilience, and community integration while documenting progress and connecting clients with resources.

Qualifications

• Current NCCPSS certification is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience providing peer support services.
• Understanding of recovery principles and community-based support services.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to support their recovery and personal goals.
• Encourage self-determination and active participation in treatment.
• Provide peer support, coaching, psychoeducation, and skill-building activities.
• Assist with life skills such as communication, self-advocacy, and community living.
• Collaborate with the CST team to coordinate care and monitor progress.
• Maintain accurate documentation and service notes.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, supervision, and planning activities.
• Connect clients with community resources and crisis support as needed.
