Job summary

Resources for Human Development (RHD) Philadelphia is seeking a Peer Specialist on a full-time basis. The role provides peer support to individuals with mental health and/or substance use conditions, using lived experience to encourage hope, recovery, and personal growth.

You will assist clients in developing coping skills, wellness strategies, and recovery goals, and participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.

Qualifications

• CPRS Certification is required.
• CPR and First Aid Certification required.
• Experience supporting individuals with mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to individuals with mental health and/or substance use conditions.
• Use your lived experience to encourage hope, recovery, and personal growth.
• Assist clients in developing coping skills, wellness strategies, and recovery goals.
• Facilitate peer recovery and support groups.
• Support individuals in achieving goals related to housing, employment, and community integration.
• Assist with the development and implementation of person-centered treatment plans.
• Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Advocate for individuals receiving services and support their self-determination.
• Help clients prepare for recovery planning meetings and effectively communicate their needs.
• Educate staff and team members on recovery-oriented care and peer support principles.
• Conduct outreach and provide ongoing engagement and support.
• Provide crisis intervention support as assigned.
• Assist with assessments, wellness planning, and recovery-focused services.
