Job summary

Peace River Center is seeking a Peer Engagement Specialist to provide peer mentoring and support for individuals with psychiatric disabilities who are receiving mental health services. You will help navigate the services system and support recovery in line with the person’s goals.

Role requires Florida Certified Peer Specialist certification (or willingness to complete within a year), and completion of PRC trainings. Strong communication, independence, and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as Florida Certified Peer Specialist or willing to obtain within 12 months.
• Strong commitment to recovery and empowerment.
• Ability to work with individuals with mental illness.
• Complete PRC trainings as required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer mentoring and support to individuals in mental health services.
• Assist participants in developing a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP).
• Help participants access transportation and navigate services.
• Attend required meetings and complete daily progress notes.
• Maintain records and participate in treatment planning reviews.
