Job summary

TRILOGY BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE in Chicago seeks a Peer Engagement Specialist to assess clients’ holistic needs and plan treatment through home, community, and office visits, using motivational mentoring to aid recovery from substance use and mental health challenges.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, strengths-based, client-centered care, with outreach to homeless populations and linkage to community resources. Experience in peer support is valued.

Qualifications

• Skill in the delivery of rehabilitative services to adults.
• Ability to work within a provider agency's structure and accept supervision.
• CRSS certification through IAODAPCA within 12 months of hire.
• Must be a past or present consumer of mental health or mental health and substance abuse services and willing to share recovery story.

Responsibilities

• Assess client’s personal, medical, emotional, social, and environmental situation through home, community, and office visits.
• Implement assertive engagement strategies to bring clients into services and linkage to treatment.
• Provide community referrals and collaborate with providers involved in client care.
• Model recovery-oriented living skills and effective coping strategies.
• Participate in Peer Support meetings and activities to gain support in position.
• Accompany and transport clients to appointments and assist with housing, budgeting, and social supports.
• Advocate for clients and empower self-advocacy when appropriate.
