Job summary

Greater Mental Health of New York seeks a Part-Time Peer Employment Specialist in White Plains, NY. You will provide person-centered peer support, employment readiness coaching, advocacy, and encouragement to participants in Employment Services.

Under supervision of the Program Director, you will help participants build confidence, develop workplace skills, pursue employment goals, and maintain required documentation in our HIPAA-compliant system. 15 hours per week, $18–$21 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher; bachelor’s preferred.
• Complete GMHNY Peer Training Program and Peer Academy Certification.
• Personal lived recovery experience used professionally.
• Understanding of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and person-centered services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an assigned caseload of individuals at various employment readiness stages.
• Provide one-to-one peer support and recovery-oriented coaching.
• Help participants pursue vocational and employment goals.
• Facilitate employment-focused groups and workshops.
• Document accurately within established timelines.
• Collaborate with program staff and community partners.
