Job summary

The Housing Advocate at CVOEO's Bridges Recovery Shelter provides direct support and advocacy for individuals experiencing homelessness who are pursuing recovery. This role blends housing-focused case management with recovery and mental health resources in a trauma-informed, client-centered environment.

The Advocate works closely with shelter guests to secure housing and coordinates with staff and community partners to address barriers to recovery, employment, and wellness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in housing advocacy, homelessness services, recovery housing, and behavioral health.
• Strong knowledge of housing resources, homelessness prevention, and recovery support services.
• Experience with trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented approaches, and harm reduction principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and advocacy to individuals experiencing homelessness committed to recovery.
• Assist guests in securing safe, stable, and supportive housing and coordinate with staff and partners to address barriers to recovery.
• Collaborate with Bridges Recovery Shelter Director to ensure successful transition from shelter to permanent housing.
• Utilize trauma-informed approaches to provide client-centered care.
