Job summary

Bradford Health Services in Alabama is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to support patient care within a facility setting. You will monitor patients, assist with daily activities, and help maintain safety and order in alignment with treatment plans.

The role requires effective communication, a valid driver’s license, CPR certification, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally demanding environment while collaborating with nurses, counselors, and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively and understand principles of chemical dependency recovery.
• Maintain records and have good communication skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Must be able to walk within the facility and on the grounds for ~1 mile per 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to sit for ~3 hours per 8-hour shift.
• CPR certification required.
• Able to work under stress and maintain professional demeanor.
• Able to stand for 45 minutes to 1 hour intervals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in luggage and body searches and monitor patient locations.
• Facilitate book studies and recovery meetings, document hourly checks.
• Ensure patients follow Bradford Program Schedule and attend assignments on time.
• Supervise activities and accompany patients to activities, meals, and appointments when needed.
• Assist nurses and counselors; participate in documentation and shift reports.
• Drive patients to appointments and for outings; purchase sundries as directed.
• Maintain safety, policy adherence, and a supportive, respectful environment.

Education

Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science

CRC or CRSS certification
