Bradford Health Services in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to join our clinical team. This full-time position supports residents through daily activities, documentation, and adherence to the treatment plan.

You will assist with patient transport, supervise group activities, monitor location, and help maintain safety and order within the facility. The role requires effective communication, basic understanding of addiction recovery, and the ability to work calmly under

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate basic understanding of chemical dependency recovery.
• Maintain records and have good communication skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Must be able to walk within the facility and grounds for about one mile per 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to sit for about three hours per 8-hour shift.
• CPR certification required.
• Must be able to work under stressful situations.
• Must be able to stand 45 minutes to 1 hour at a time.
• If recovering, two years of continuous abstinence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in luggage and body searches.
• Monitor and facilitate Book Studies and Recovery meetings.
• Know patient locations and document hourly checks.
• Ensure patients follow the Bradford Program Schedule and are on time for assignments.
• Supervise and facilitate patient activities as directed.
• Oversee med line to prevent diversion and de-escalate situations.
• Assist patients to activities, medication times, and meals when unable to walk.
• Assist the counselor and engage in documentation.
• Attend staff training and programs as directed.
• Assist nurses as directed by supervisor.
• Drive patients to and from appointments and outings.
• Drive to purchase patient sundries.
