Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in North Carolina seeks an Employment Peer Mentor to support individuals through coaching, mentoring, and recovery‑oriented services in the community. You will promote self‑direction, wellness, and employment readiness, working closely with the employment team to implement IPS fidelity.

This role requires a High School diploma, NC Peer Specialist certification or willingness to become certified, and a valid driver's license plus reliable transportation for community work

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• NC Certified Peer Support Specialist or willing to become certified within 6 months.
• Must be or have been a recipient of mental health services.
• Valid driver’s license with vehicle insurance.
• Reliable transportation for community-based work throughout the area.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching, mentoring, and consultation to individuals to promote recovery, self-advocacy, and self-direction.
• Deliver wellness management strategies and manualized interventions (e.g., Wellness Recovery Action Planning or Illness Management and Recovery) and employment services.
• Assist individuals in developing psychiatric advance directives.
• Model recovery values and empower clients to pursue wellness and resilience.
• Provide employment services interventions and case coordination as needed.
• Prepare and submit documentation accurately and on time.
• Participate in IPS fidelity model and DMH approved IPS training.
• Travel for community-based services within assigned territory.
