Job summary

TURN Behavioral Health Services in San Diego, CA is seeking a SUD Counselor for a regular full-time role (over 30 hours). The position offers an hourly wage of $26.00–$30.00 and involves counseling, care coordination, and relapse prevention.

You will conduct assessments, create treatment plans, provide individual and group counseling, and collaborate with families. This role requires SUD certification or registration and a valid CA driver’s license; knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software

Qualifications

• SUD Certification from a recognized board preferred; Minimum of SUD registration required.
• Valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance per contract requirements.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interventions including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, collateral services, and other recovery-related services. Conduct intake assessments (ASAM and level of care) and determine diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation as contractually required and meet minimum requirements for direct billable services.
• Conduct chart and treatment plan reviews to ensure compliance with agency, state, and federal standards; monitor client progress and changing needs.
• Support and encourage client’s family/significant others to participate in stabilization and program services; offer referrals as needed.
• Facilitate placement including pre-placement visits and transportation as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of client’s care.
• Participate in scheduled program meetings.
