Job summary

Acadia Healthcare is seeking a counselor to support treatment for patients with substance use, eating disorders, or related issues in Ball Ground, GA. You will conduct and co-facilitate group/family sessions, perform assessments, and develop individual treatment plans.

The role requires counseling field experience or practicum, plus a high school diploma; a Bachelor's in social/health services is preferred. Certification and CPR may be required; state licensure eligibility is noted.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in social or health services preferred.
• Experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct group and/or family sessions and document as required.
• Co-facilitate sessions and assist with modifying problem behaviors.
• May conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for assigned patients.
• Ensure documentation regarding patient care is completed timely and clearly.
• Act as liaison between referral sources and patients.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
• Liaise with insurance carriers as requested.
• Provide case management to ensure individualized quality care.
• Evaluate patient needs and refer to other programs if needed.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, professional attitude and address patient safety as priority.

Education
