Job summary

Mayflower Recovery is seeking a full-time Recovery Counselor to run groups and provide direct patient support at our detox facility in the Greater Boston area. The role emphasizes group facilitation and collaborative care within a multidisciplinary team.

The position offers company-paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus paid time off. 40 hours per week, with specific shifts from 10 am to 6:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday.

Qualifications

• LADC or CADC certification is highly preferred.
• Associate degree from an accredited college is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; 1+ year in substance use treatment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provides 1-to-1 support sessions with patients or facilitates groups as scheduled.
• Completes patient assessments daily and ensures timely, accurate documentation.
• Engages patients with recovery-oriented activities to promote engagement in treatment.
• Supports treatment engagement and helps de-escalate barriers to care.
• Facilitates patient engagement and re-engagement sessions as needed.
• Documents all patient interactions clearly in the record for continuity of care.
