Job summary

Sunshine Behavioral Health in Colorado seeks an Addiction Counselor to assess and monitor client behavior during treatment for substance use. You will collaborate with the Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisor to develop treatment plans, facilitate group therapy, and ensure thorough documentation in the EMR.

Responsibilities include crisis management, discharge planning, referrals, and coordinating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Experience or education in chemical and alcohol dependency and abuse.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Ability to assess clients, plan care, and document interventions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and implement AOD treatment plans and goals.
• Initiate individual and group therapy sessions and document processes in EMR.
• Provide referrals and resources to support recovery in collaboration with the Therapist.
• Develop discharge planning with client/family.
• Record health information in EMR and maintain thorough documentation.
• Support case management including FMLA/STD matters and coordinate through appropriate channels.
• Participate in team consultations and treatment planning with care professionals.
• Respond to emergencies and take necessary action.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
