Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group in Sacramento is seeking a Recovery Counselor (FT) to provide direct care and psychosocial support within the Capital Star Crisis Residential Program. This in-person role runs Thu-Mon, 3:00 pm–11:30 pm, offering competitive hourly compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

The position requires a California MHRS certification (or ability to obtain after hire), a high school diploma, and relevant experience in mental health or social services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) plus one year of full-time experience in consumer-directed services within a mental health, healthcare, or social services setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of clients under supervision.
• Engage with clients through direct and indirect physical and verbal interactions to support recovery.
• Coordinate with the program team to support treatment planning and housing transition goals.
