RECOVERY COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to recovery principles, Transition House culture, and the belief in integration of mental health clients into active community life.
- Capable of providing clients an atmosphere of acceptance and support by establishing rapport and supportive relationships that include positive role modeling and healthy boundary setting.
- Healthy self-care skills and resiliency to manage personal wellbeing while being a positive role model for clients.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related mental health field strongly preferred. Minimum of 100 hours completed towards a Bachelor’s degree required.
- Previous experience working with persons with mental illness and substance abuse is preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Provide direct services to Transitional Living Program clients: establish rapport, assess needs, organize and conduct face-to-face case management, develop and maintain recovery plans, co-facilitate psycho-educational groups, provide transportation, assist in crisis situations, collaborate with outside providers, maintain community resource awareness, document and report accordingly, and attend community meetings.
- Provide direct and indirect services to Community Outreach Program clients: similar to above, including establishing rapport, maintaining contact, developing skills, providing transportation, crisis assistance, documentation, and community engagement.
- Screening and Interviewing referrals to TLP: work with the Programs Director to screen and participate in interviews, complete orientation and paperwork.
- Oversee operation and maintenance of facility, property, and supplies: conduct routine checks, inventory, monitor supplies, and coordinate vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain required reporting: ensure timely and accurate completion of reports, assessments, and documentation.
- Work with student interns and volunteers: provide training, shadowing opportunities, and learning experiences.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Participate in ongoing training and required certifications.
- Work after hours, weekends, or holidays as needed, including being on call for emergencies.
- Drive agency vehicle, requiring valid driver’s license and ability to operate a 12-passenger van.
- Meet physical requirements, including occasional lifting, standing, sitting, and traveling.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support agency operations.
