Job summary

County of Lapeer is seeking a Recovery Coach to join our SUD team. You will provide peer support services to individuals, facilitate recovery education, and help participants access community resources and daily living skills.

You will transport participants in an agency vehicle and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to support long-term stability. Requirements include high school graduation, entry-level experience, and a valid Michigan driver’s license or ability to travel to service

Qualifications

• High school graduation required.
• Entry-level position.
• Prefer experience working with adults with mental health disabilities.
• Ability to write and speak effectively.
• Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license or ability to travel to and access assigned service sites.
• Must adhere to the Michigan Recovery Coach Code of Ethics.

The Recovery Coach assists in implementing/creating a recovery environment and acts as an advocate for the needs and rights of every individual along with sharing relevant personal experiences related to the “Recovery Process” for the benefit of individuals in recovery.Please submit a cover letter sharing your lived experience with substance use disorder.Significant Duties: Work as a member of the SUD, Substance Use Disorder team, providing peer support services to individuals.
