Job summary

Peerstar, LLC seeks a Certified Peer Specialist to provide peer support services to reentrants in Franklin County Community Corrections. The role includes helping clients identify recovery goals, navigate resources, and build self-sufficiency through mutual respect and empowerment.

Responsibilities include conducting initial receptions, guiding crisis plans, connecting clients with housing, employment and education resources, and attending treatment meetings. Active CPS credential required.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and documentation proficiency.
• Lived experience with mental illness and justice involvement.
• Knowledge of mental health peer support services and recovery processes.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assists reentrants with developing their individual reentry plans.
• Meets reentrants upon reception and provides information on mental health services.
• Promotes WRAP planning and helps peers set recovery goals.
• Shares personal recovery stories to inspire and support.
• Provides information on community resources to meet recovery goals.
• Coaches in basic life skills and supports independent decision making.
