Job summary

Pinelands of Medford in Medford, NJ is seeking a Recovery Coach to support clients in daily recovery planning and post-discharge follow-up. The role features a full-time schedule: four days a week, 3pm–11pm, with weekend rotation.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop Individual Recovery Plans and assist with activities of daily living within the housing program. We value lived experience, compassion, and a commitment to long-term recovery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Recovery Coach training preferred.
• 12 Step knowledge preferred.
• Experience in treatment programs or recovery communities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meets with client within 48 hours of admission to complete an Individual Recovery Plan.
• Meets with client at minimum twice a week to review Recovery Plan progress.
• Orients the client to the facility, program and its schedule.
• Assists individuals in recovery planning through concrete tasks and referrals.
• Assists clients with activities of daily living within housing program.
• Develops a daily routine focusing on long-term recovery.
• Facilitates daily group activities and participates in supervision.
• Works with client to develop a discharge plan.
• Follows up post-discharge to check progress and provide support.

Position Summary:

The Recovery Coach works with client to develop a daily routine focusing on behaviors needed for long term recovery. Follows up with client post-discharge to check on progress and offer support as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

• Meets with client within 48 hours of admission to complete an Individual Recovery Plan.
• Meets with client at minimum twice a week to review Recovery Plan progress.
• Orients the client to the facility, program and its schedule.
• Assists individuals in recovery planning through completion or planning of concrete tasks (get a Big Book/Basic text, refer to Big Book study, identify local meetings to attend, connect with someone in their area if possible, etc.)
• Assists clients with activities of daily living within housing program (chores, free time activities, etc.).
• Works with client to develop a daily routine focusing on behaviors needed for long term recovery.
• Willingly shares personal recovery experiences, demonstrates and models effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
• Facilitates daily group activities as assigned, including morning community meeting, wrap up meeting, 12 step study group and other activities as assigned.
• Participates in both group and individual supervision with Clinical staff.
• Works with client to develop a discharge plan inclusive of areas addressed in the Individual Recovery Plan.
• Follows up with client post-discharge to check on progress and offer support as needed.

Knowledge, Education, & Experience:

• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• One year of experience working within a treatment program or recovery community.
• 12 Step knowledge preferred.
• Recovery Coach training preferred
