Job summary

American Addiction Centers is seeking a registered nurse to join our dedicated treatment team in Rhode Island. This role requires clinical nursing care, collaboration with physicians and ancillary staff, and adherence to all regulatory standards.

The position emphasizes patient safety, comprehensive assessment, care planning, and coordination of services across the treatment unit to support recovery and wellness for patients with addiction and co-occurring disorders.

Qualifications

ASN or BSN required.
Current RN License in state of operation required.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
Knowledge of addiction and drug treatment preferred.
Ability to read and interpret information; write clearly; speak persuasively.

Responsibilities

Calls the appropriate team member (e.g. Medical Director) with non-life threatening issues to get action plan; 911 in life-threatening emergencies.
Identifies client care requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual clients.
Provides emotional, psychological and spiritual support to clients and families.
Promotes client independence by teaching care goals and self-care requirements; answers questions.
Ensures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and regulations; measures health outcomes against goals.
