Job summary

Homeward Bound in El Paso, TX seeks a compassionate Residential Counselor to support clients in recovery from substance use. You will maintain client contact, provide emotional support, assist with admission and orientation, and help motivate clients toward abstinence under supervision.

Responsibilities include crisis notification, documentation, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• If in a program of substance recovery, must have at least one year continuous sobriety.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client contact and provide emotional support.
• Notify Nursing Staff and/or Counselor in case of crisis.
• Assist with Admission process and unit orientation.
• Interact with clients and help prevent AMA departures.
• Duplicate and collate materials for staff and clients.
• Inform counselor of significant interactions via Incident Report or other system.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• Perform vital sign checks under nurse supervision.
• Conduct bed/head checks.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
