Job summary

Wildwood Recovery Center, located in Clintwood, Virginia, seeks a Patient Care Specialist to support the daily operations of the residential program, ensuring safety, structure, and well-being for clients in recovery. The role involves direct client interaction, monitoring behavior, assisting with daily living needs, and supporting therapeutic programming under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in residential behavioral health or related field preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• A valid Virginia driver’s license with a clean driving record (for client transport duties) preferred.
• Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
• Background check and drug screening per DBHDS regulations.
• CPR, First Aid, and CPI certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
• Familiarity with ASAM standards and Medicaid/DBHDS requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous supervision and support to residential clients to ensure a safe, structured environment.
• Assist with daily residential operations including client orientation, room assignments, and facility routines.
• Monitor client behavior and promptly report safety concerns or violations; respond to incidents using de-escalation techniques.
• Accurately complete rounds logs, incident reports, and observation records; maintain client confidentiality.
