Job summary

United Quest Care Services LLC in North Carolina is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) to provide peer-based recovery support to individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges. You will use your lived recovery experience to build trust, inspire hope, and support individuals in achieving their goals.

The role requires NC CPSS certification, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Current NC Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification.
• Lived experience in recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Valid NC driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Use personal recovery experience to build rapport and model hope.
• Support individuals in developing self-advocacy, coping, and independent living skills.
• Assist with navigation of community resources, treatment providers, and support systems.
• Promote recovery principles, self-determination, and empowerment.
• Participate in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and ongoing safety planning as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with Medicaid and DHHS standards.
• Uphold professional boundaries, ethics, and peer support values.
