Job summary

Paradigm Technology is hiring a Data Governance Generalist to lead enterprise RIM and RoPA programs in a hybrid Plano, TX setting. You will design, implement, and maintain records retention, disposition, and information governance policies across the organization.

You will partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, IT, Security, and Risk functions to ensure RoPA accuracy and ongoing compliance, while supporting data protection assessments and governance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Business Admin, Legal Studies, Library Science, Information Governance, or related field.
• 5+ years in Records Information Management, Information Governance, Privacy Operations, or Compliance.
• 3+ years hands-on RoPA documentation experience.
• Knowledge of GDPR Article 30 and records retention practices.
• Experience with cross-functional stakeholders across Legal, Privacy, Compliance, IT, and Security.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
• Excellent analytical and project management capabilities.

Paradigm Technology is hiring a Data Governance Generalist who is an expert in RIM Records Information Management and RoPA Record of Processing Activities. This is a perm position and is hybrid, 2-3 days in Plano, TX.

Experienced Records Information Management (RIM) & RoPA Consultant to lead and mature our enterprise records governance and privacy documentation programs. Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining records retention, disposition, information governance, and Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) programs across the organization.

Possesses deep expertise in records management, privacy regulations, data governance, and operational compliance. Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Security, Risk Management, and business stakeholders to ensure organizational records and processing activities are documented, managed, retained, and disposed of in accordance with regulatory and business requirements.

Records Information Management (RIM)

• Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-wide records management and information governance programs.
• Administer records retention schedules and disposition procedures.
• Establish policies and standards for physical and electronic records management.
• Conduct records inventories, classification exercises, and remediation initiatives.
• Collaborate with business units to identify records ownership and stewardship responsibilities.
• Support legal hold processes and coordinate with Legal teams during litigation and investigations.
• Monitor compliance with records retention requirements and internal governance standards.
• Lead records management training and awareness programs.

Record of Processing Activities (RoPA)

• Own and maintain enterprise RoPA documentation in accordance with GDPR and other privacy regulations.
• Conduct interviews and workshops with business stakeholders to document data processing activities.
• Review and validate processing purposes, legal bases, retention periods, data flows, and third-party involvement.
• Partner with Privacy and Compliance teams to ensure RoPA accuracy and completeness.
• Support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy risk assessments.
• Ensure RoPA data remains current through periodic reviews and governance processes.
• Develop reporting and metrics to track RoPA completeness and compliance.

Governance & Compliance

• Collaborate with Privacy, Compliance, Security, and Risk functions to align governance initiatives.
• Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and compliance assessments.
• Identify gaps and implement corrective action plans related to records and privacy governance.
• Monitor evolving regulatory requirements impacting records management and privacy documentation.
• Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Legal Studies, Library Science, Information Governance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Records Information Management, Information Governance, Privacy Operations, or Compliance.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience managing and maintaining RoPA documentation.
• Strong knowledge of:
• GDPR Article 30 Records of Processing Activities
• Records retention and disposition practices
• Information governance frameworks
• Legal hold processes
• Privacy and compliance controls
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across Legal, Privacy, Compliance, IT, and Security.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
• Strong analytical and project management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Information Governance Professional (IGP)
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or equivalent)
• Experience with Big ID, OneTrust, TrustArc, Collibra, Iron Mountain, Microsoft Purview, or similar governance/privacy platforms.
• Experience supporting global privacy compliance programs.
