Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Plastic Surgeon to provide comprehensive reconstructive surgical care with a focus on breast and oncologic reconstruction. The physician collaborates with breast surgical oncologists, dermatology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and head and neck surgery to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients requiring plastic and reconstructive surgical services.
• Provide immediate and delayed breast reconstruction following oncologic surgery.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient goals, clinical findings, and multidisciplinary recommendations.
• Consult with patients regarding reconstructive options, anticipated outcomes, and postoperative expectations.
• Provide comprehensive preoperative, operative, and postoperative care, including wound management and follow-up treatment.
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, tumor boards, case conferences, and care planning meetings.
• Collaborate with breast surgical oncologists, surgical oncologists, dermatologists, and other specialists to develop coordinated treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Remain current on advances in plastic and reconstructive surgical techniques and technologies.
