Job Summary: Supports Teton Toyota, Teton Auto Credit and Teton Volkswagen in a variety of tasks to help the day to day operations of the dealerships. Leading by example to create a great impression on all lot attendants. Work with all departments to maintain cohesiveness and processes to ensure our customers have the best experience every time. Transfer of Inventory between stores Acquire through various sources needed inventory for all stores in auto group. Coordinating with G. M’s, local management and support personnel to create/duplicate a strong used and certified used car culture throughout the platform.

Requirements

Responsibilities: Each Job Responsibility is listed below in no order of importance, notice some tasks are ongoing throughout.

Oversee Lot Supervisor (Bridger Garcia):
  • Empower/Delegate/Train Lot manager to handle the day to day management and oversite of the lot/retail display as well as he can and condition of the grounds and related assets of the company/ dealerships in Idaho Falls:
  • Seasonal outside projects i.e.: Snow Removal, lawn care, weed control/removal, care maintenance of areas surrounding building.
  • Assure his understanding and use of the principles and beliefs while supervising what is a young group of employees both being, professional while holding them accountable to high standards of performance given their responsibilities. To produce happy efficient long-term employees.
  • Take facilities and cleanliness to the next level.
  • Keep auto credit awareness and needs in mind daily.
Lot Duties:
  • Actively involved in hiring process. Staffing and scheduling the appropriate number of the lot attendants to meet business sales trends and service needs
  • Quickly get vehicles on the website
  • Crisp clean retail display of new and used vehicles. Rotate on regular basis
  • Write up new cars for Toyota
Used Car Reconditioning:
  • Work with Service, Parts and Detail to meet or exceed Teton Auto Groups platform goals for time to the lot and quality. (3 days)
  • Require outside suppliers/vendors to follow protocol for work performed. Use them as necessary to help with reconditioning of cars i.e. work inventory with vendor
  • Assure records of work performed are accessible to sales managers in C.D.K and certified packets to use with customers as needed.
  • Promote the idea with all personnel that we are going to have the best used cars in the markets we serve given their age, miles and price point. Perpetuate your idea that we are going to do all the work that is necessary and none of the work that isn’t!
  • Walk inventory with sales team to point out unique or fresh inventory and address any concerns
Establish Lines of communication:
  • Attend managers meetings to discuss/ review with key managers relevant information/ reports that impacts used cars, trade values, wholesale trends, reconditioning times.
  • Attend sales meetings (1-2 times per week) to discuss/review used car inventory and find out what the need/wants of our customers are
  • Listen closely to sales managers, B.D.C and the sales team when they report customers phone calls and inquires on models, price points that they want/need.
  • Consult with B.D.C manager to determine which vehicles have generated the most interest/inquires online, chat & over the phone.
  • Discuss with sales management and monitor local pricing conditions (shop competitors in the market) to ensure that products are competitively price for what they are and what the market will bear.
  • Utilize technology and consumer websites to see price variations and make comparisons to our inventory.
  • Set prices for used vehicles based on market conditions and dealership goals for gross and unit sales.
  • Certified pricing should be top of the market. Vehicle must be clearly marked on the lot, website, online platforms as certified. Sales consultants must be trained to introduce certified benefits early in the process, B.D.C early in the communication via email, chat etc.
  • Discuss with desk managers, G.M.’s, sales mangers which pieces deserve the money and why. Price those vehicles accordingly. Encourage no or limited discounts.
  • Other Stuff: Assist with customer relations issues. Look for break downs in process, provide training feedback and coaching to prevent things from being repeated.
Appraising and pricing used cars:
  • Participate in training sales managers and finance managers on how to do a proper appraisal. What to look for and when to ask questions. Assure appraisal form filled out properly.
  • Work with all the sales team on the importance of getting both sets of keys and insurance coverage for windshields.
  • Provide consistent relevant feedback to sales mangers/ F&I manager both positive and negative so they can improve their appraisal skills.
  • When possible go with or take a member of sales management with you on appraisals to demonstrate the process.
  • When needed hop in and assist with appraisals to enhance time to buy goals and the customers experience.
  • Give input at time of appraisals on determining values on trade ins at all dealerships in the group when possible. Be willing to discuss/review your trade value and be willing to discuss/review the appraising managers trade value when differences exist. Coach both the science and the art of the used car market and the varied values based the pedigree of the car and its condition.
  • Set prices for used vehicles based on market conditions and dealership goals for gross and unit sales.
  • Certified pricing should be top of the market. Vehicle must be clearly marked on the lot, website, online platforms as certified. Sales consultants must be trained to introduce certified benefits early in the process, B.D.C early in the communication via email, chat etc.
  • Discuss with desk managers, G.M.’s, sales mangers which pieces deserve the money and why. Price those vehicles accordingly. Encourage no or limited discounts.
  • Used vehicles: Help price and approve work on used cars when used car manager is unavailable. Look at and drive if needed any used vehicles to make informed decision if unit is a viable retail or TAC opportunity. Write service and detail any necessary PO’s to ensure vehicle is on the lot in a timely manner and cost is accurate.
Miscellaneous:
  • Assist with customer relations issues. Look for break downs in process, provide training feedback and coaching to prevent things from being repeated.
  • Support the service department needs for the auto wash and meet the quality and time needs of our service customer
  • Keep auto credit awareness and needs in mind daily.
  • Take advantage of off-lease programs for banks and manufacturers and develop processes and systems to maximize the availability of off lease inventory in all stores/markets
