Job summary

Metacycle in Gainesville, TX is seeking a Recoiler Operator to produce conduit coils in adherence to job orders and production needs. You will set up reel stands, recoil material to exact lengths, and finalize products with banding, capping, wrapping, and palletizing.

The role requires manual dexterity, ability to lift 50–75 pounds, and strict adherence to safety rules. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, and the shift is 1st shift on full-time basis.

Qualifications

• Experience handling coiled materials, conduit, tubing, or similar products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review job orders to determine product specifications, coil dimensions, lengths, and quantity requirements.
• Set up and operate reel stands and recoiling equipment to ensure smooth and consistent conduit feed.
• Recoil conduit material to specified dimensions and lengths using appropriate measuring tools.
• Monitor coil quality, identifying and correcting tangles, kinks, or material defects.
• Stop production and notify supervision if quality or safety issues arise.
• Secure completed coils using proper banding techniques.
• Cap both ends of coils to protect product integrity during handling, storage, and transport.
• Wrap coils with plastic film or stretch wrap to prevent movement or damage.
• Palletize coils according to job order instructions, ensuring proper placement, balance, and stacking.
• Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
• Perform visual inspections and remove non-conforming coils for rework or further inspection.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

The Recoiler Operator is responsible for producing conduit coils in accordance with job orders and production requirements. This position ensures conduit is recoiled to the correct length and dimensions and properly banded, capped, wrapped, and palletized while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review job orders to determine product specifications, coil dimensions, lengths, and quantity requirements


• Set up and operate reel stands and recoiling equipment to ensure smooth and consistent conduit feed


• Recoil conduit material to specified dimensions and lengths using appropriate measuring tools


• Continuously monitor coil quality, identifying and correcting tangles, kinks, or material defects


• Stop production and notify supervision if quality or safety issues arise


• Secure completed coils using proper banding techniques


• Cap both ends of coils to protect product integrity during handling, storage, and transport


• Wrap coils with plastic film or stretch wrap to prevent movement or damage

• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately and follow lockout/tagout procedures when required

QualificationsEDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE

• Familiarity with banding, wrapping, or palletizing processes preferred

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
