Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services LLC is seeking a Field Mechanic to operate and maintain our power generation facilities. You will perform rounds, inspections, and maintenance, and ensure accurate records while adhering to safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

Requirements include a high school diploma, at least 2 years in power generation or industrial maintenance, ability to read P&IDs and procedures, and a valid driver’s license. Shifts rotate 12 hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in power generation operations or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand operating procedures, P&IDs, manuals, and schematics.
• Experience using computerized maintenance systems and plant control systems (DCS preferred).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the power generation facility in accordance with OEM, site, and company guidelines.
• Independently perform operator rounds, inspections, and equipment readings.
• Maintain accurate electronic logbooks, work requests, test records, and shift turnover documentation.
• Respond to normal plant alarms and troubleshoot recurring process and equipment issues using indicators, trends, manuals, and procedures.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks and support standard corrective maintenance activities.
• Issue safety work permits and perform standard lockout/tagout (LOTO) activities on assigned equipment.
• Support water treatment systems, chemical handling, and bulk ammonia systems in accordance with procedures.
• Inspect work areas for mechanical deficiencies, safety hazards, and environmental concerns and initiate corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all plant safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings, procedure reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with updating operating and maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Train and provide guidance to Entry‑level technicians on routine operating and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate effectively with team members, contractors, and vendors.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and reliability.

Education, Experience, and Training

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in power generation operations or industrial maintenance.

Demonstrated ability to independently operate plant equipment and perform standard maintenance tasks.

Ability to read and understand operating procedures, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), manuals, and schematics.

Experience using computerized maintenance systems, electronic logbooks, and plant control systems (DCS preferred).

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work rotating 12‑hour shifts, nights, weekends, and on‑call assignments as required.

Certifications

Valid Driver’s License required.

Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet acceptable parameters of Company policy.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Operation of industrial tools and heavy equipment.
• Standing and walking up to 75% of the workday; sitting up to 25%.
• Climbing ladders and stairs and maintaining balance without assistance.
• Frequent lifting of at least 10 pounds; infrequent lifting over 50 pounds.
• Working in high‑noise environments (>85 dBA) with required hearing protection.
• Potential controlled exposure to hazardous chemicals.
• Working outdoors in extreme heat and cold.
• Working in confined spaces requiring stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Mandatory use of PPE including fire‑retardant clothing, hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toed boots.
• Frequent use of computers, mobile devices, and standard office equipment.

Travel Requirements

Position may require occasional travel, including overnight stays, based on business needs.
