Job summary

Williamson Health is seeking a Clinical Support Specialist to assist Hospital Medical Services by setting patient appointments and maintaining records while delivering excellent customer service to patients and families.

The role requires at least a year of medical office experience, strong communication in English, and solid computer skills to operate office equipment and Allscripts scheduling software.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • At least one year of medical office experience and ability to communicate well.
  • Competent in the use of computers, printers, facsimile machines, copy machines, business phones, document scanners and other office equipment and supplies.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both verbally and in written form, squat, reach overhead, and operate a computer/keyboard and read instructions as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules appointments appropriately in Allscripts.
  • Provides simple medical advice under the direction of the physician.
  • Provides patients with info on HIPAA and ensures compliance.
  • Informs patients of changes in office policies.
  • Follows proper lifting techniques to prevent back injury.
  • Consistently verifies patient insurance information and eligibility/precertification if needed.
  • Maintains open communication with all staff.
  • Answers phones politely and within 4 rings.
