Job summary

Union Hospital is seeking a Receptionist / Patient Account Representative to greet patients, handle calls, verify demographics and insurance, and manage appointments and records. The role supports a patient-centered experience and works within the Union Hospital Medical Group environment.

The position emphasizes accuracy, multitasking, and strong interpersonal skills, with potential on-call and varied hours as part of PRN staffing. Prior medical office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous medical office/clerical experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask.
• Computer knowledge.
• Previous EMR experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
• Must be accountable, self-directed, and possess great interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and welcoming patients with a friendly attitude.
• Answer incoming calls, take messages, and route calls appropriately.
• Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule and cancel patient appointments, prepare, and maintain medical records.
• Process transactions and reconcile cash with charges, assist patients with account inquiries and payment arrangements.
• Provide training to new employees and perform other assigned duties.
