Wage: $20 to $23 per hour
Schedule: 9AM-5PM, Monday- Friday

Reports To: Program Director
The Receptionist is responsible for managing front desk operations to create a child-friendly, trauma-informed environment at the Child Advocacy Center (CAC). This role serves as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and MDT partners, and assists in appointment coordination, visitor management, and general clerical support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Greet children, families, MDT members, and visitors in a professional, friendly, and trauma-informed manner.
- Ensure the reception and waiting areas remain clean, organized, and child-friendly at all times.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls; respond to general inquiries or refer calls appropriately.
- Coordinate visitor arrival, maintain visitor sign-in logs, and monitor front door access.
- Schedule appointments for client intake, medical exams, and other on-site services in coordination with clinical and investigative staff.
- Communicate with MDT partners to confirm arrival times and schedule changes.
- Assist with general clerical duties, including filing, copying, scanning, and preparing correspondence.
- Monitor front office supplies and notify Office Manager when reordering is needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager or CAC Director.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of prior office, customer service, or reception experience required.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with children and families in crisis situations in a calm, professional, and sensitive manner.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, phone systems, and scheduling software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Valid NYS driver’s license and access to automobile required.
- Flexibility to work some evenings as needed.
