Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented receptionist to support the front desk and switchboard operations in our San Diego area facility. The role involves clerical tasks, basic patient and visitor assistance, and coordinating communication across departments.

Preferred candidates will have a High School Diploma, less than 1 year of related experience, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities.

Hours: Shift Start Time: Variable Shift End Time: Variable AWS Hours Requirement: 8/40 - 8 Hour Shift Additional Shift Information: Weekend Requirements: As Needed On-Call Required: No Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $27.500 - $30.400 - $33.530 The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Essential Functions

• Mail processing Opens, dates, sorts and distributes department mail.
• Performs general clerical duties
• Performs filing, collating, stuffing envelopes and other clerical tasks as needed.
• Receptionist duties Meets and greets all visitors; notifies appropriate party of arrival of visitor.
• Assists patients, guests and employees as needed.
• Conducts Patient Look-ups, provides escorts, wayfinding, wheelchair transports and equipment sanitizing as needed.
• Telephone support Answers all incoming calls, screens, transfers and takes thorough messages.
• Uses paging and/or intercom system as necessary.
• Typing skills May be required to type forms, labels and envelopes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Can manage and screen telephone calls and deal with multiple calls simultaneously. Able to communicate clearly, politely, accurately and tactfully. Can operate basic office equipment, including typewriter or keyboard. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
