Job summary

MG+M The Law Firm in New Orleans is seeking a full-time, in-person Receptionist/File Clerk to welcome visitors, answer calls, and manage mail and courier services.

You will support legal staff with file handling, scanning, copying, and document production, and keep lobby areas organized. A high school diploma is required, with 1–3 years of office or law firm experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred but not required.
  • 1-3 years of law firm experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with a document management system is a plus.
  • Attendance & Punctuality: Consistently arrive at work and meetings on time; ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Communication: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dependability: Follow instructions, complete tasks on time, work independently, and commit to the hours necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Contribute to building a positive team spirit and support the success of colleagues.
  • Technical Skills: Possess basic PC skills and the ability to operate a phone system, copier, scanner, and printer.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and direct office visitors.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls in a kind and professional manner and direct callers to the appropriate party.
  • Receive, sort, and forward incoming mail.
  • Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of express mail services.
  • Assist with ordering and restocking breakroom and office supplies.
  • Assist with ordering and restocking FedEx and mailing supplies.
  • Assist with related clerical duties such as scanning and copying documents.
  • Perform all clerical and administrative duties as assigned and/or required to support the office.
  • Assist legal administrative assistants and paralegals with file downloads and uploads, scanning and document production.
  • Save, download, and name documents in accordance with firm procedures, with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
  • Ensure lobby and break room areas are continuously kept clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Process Expense Reimbursements.

MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) has an immediate opening in our New Orleans office for a full-time, in-person Receptionist/File Clerk.

The firm's expertise is diverse but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
