Job summary

The Concierge is responsible for answering and transferring all incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner, giving information, directions and other appropriate assistance to residents, staff, guests and vendors. Performs clerical duties as assigned.

This is a part-time, evening position with Monday and Thursday shifts from 4pm to 8pm, in-person at Freedom Village in Michigan. Salary is $15.50 per hour.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Proficient typing and MS Office.
  • Strong written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-going multi-line phone system coverage.
  • Serve as receptionist and greet residents, visitors, vendors and service providers.
  • Distribute packages, mail and magazines.
  • Maintain visitor sign-in logs.
  • Monitor security cameras and fire alarm board where applicable.
  • Maintain admittance security for public entries.
  • Prepare maintenance work orders as requested.
  • Prepare correspondence and documents.
  • Data entry of general resident information.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Concierge is responsible for answering and transferring all incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner, giving information, direction and other appropriate assistance to residents, staff, guests and vendors. Performs a variety of clerical duties as assigned.

$15.50 per hour

Experience:
  • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1. High School graduate preferred. Ability to communicate efficiently in English using proper grammar in a pleasant manner.
  • 2. Typing and experience with Microsoft Office software.
  • 3. Must be able to handle a multiplicity of routine tasks, following specific instructions carefully and general instructions completely.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical effort is minimal. Seventy-five percent (75%) of the work day is spent sitting, standing intermittently, and bending. Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty (20) pounds. Requires manual coordination to operate multi-line phone system, computer, and other business equipment. Requires continuous mental and visual attention to diversified operations. Must be able to function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions. Communicates orally and/or in writing with residents, coworkers, families, and public.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
  • 1. Provide on-going multi-line phone system coverage.
  • 2. Serve as receptionist and greet all guests, residents, vendors, suppliers, and outside service providers.
  • 3. Distribute packages, business mail and magazines.
  • 4. Maintain visitor sign-in logs.
  • 5. Monitor closed circuit security TV cameras and fire alarm board (where applicable).
  • 6. Maintain security for admittance to all entries accessible to public.
  • 7. Prepare maintenance work orders as requested by residents and staff.
  • 8. Prepare correspondence, memo, and other documents.
  • 9. Responsible for data entry of general resident information using computer software system.
Other Duties:
  • 1. Receives all persons who enter the Community in a courteous manner, informs, guides, directs or otherwise assists residents, visitors, staff or vendors tactfully and congenially to present the best possible image of the Community.
  • 2. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • 3. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
