Job summary

Cypress Village in Jacksonville, FL seeks a friendly Concierge to handle incoming calls, greet residents and guests, and manage packages and mail with professional courtesy. You will support a range of front-desk tasks and assist vendors while upholding community hospitality standards.

Key duties include switchboard coverage, visitor sign-in, mail distribution, data entry, and basic clerical work. Weekend shifts are required on a rotating schedule in addition to weekday coverage.

Qualifications

  • Ability to type accurately and use basic software.
  • Clear and courteous communication in English.

Job description

Primary shift will be 10 AM to 4 PM, four days a week with rotating weekends required.

24 hours a week.

Weekend shift means both Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM. (They will have the surrounding Friday and Monday off when working a weekend)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Concierge is responsible for answering and transferring all incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner, giving information, direction and other appropriate assistance to residents, staff, guests and vendors. Performs a variety of clerical duties as assigned.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Essential Job Duties:
  1. Provide on-going switchboard/telephone coverage.
  2. Serve as receptionist and greet all guests, residents, vendors, suppliers, and outside service providers.
  3. Distribute packages, business mail and magazines.
  4. Maintain visitor sign-in logs.
  5. Monitor closed circuit security TV cameras and fire alarm board (where applicable).
  6. Maintain security for admittance to all entries accessible to public.
  7. Prepare maintenance work orders as requested by residents and staff.
  8. Prepare correspondence, memo, and other documents.

Responsible for data entry of general resident information using computer software system.

Other Duties:
  1. Receives all persons who enter the Community in a courteous manner, informs, guides, directs or otherwise assists residents, visitors, staff or vendors tactfully and congenially to present the best possible image of the Community.
  2. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  3. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School graduate preferred. Ability to communicate efficiently in English using proper grammar in a pleasant manner.
  2. Typing and experience with Microsoft Office software.
  3. Must be able to handle a multiplicity of routine tasks, following specific instructions carefully and general instructions completely.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical effort is minimal. Seventy-five percent (75%) of the work day is spent sitting, standing intermittently, and bending. Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty (20) pounds. Requires manual coordination to operate switchboard, computer, and other business equipment. Requires continuous mental and visual attention to diversified operations. Must be able to function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions. Communicates orally and/or in writing with residents, coworkers, families, and public.
