Job Summary

The primary function of the Receptionist/Cashier is to coordinate all communications with the public, and assist the District Office Manager with record keeping, cash sales, and paperwork.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Answer all incoming phone calls, direct them to the appropriate party or take a message.
  2. Greet members of the public and direct them to the appropriate party or facilitate their requests.
  3. Maintain a courteous and efficient image in dealing with the public.
  4. Know the whereabouts of all employees during business hours.
  5. Compile and maintain files of purchase orders for invoice clearance.
  6. File correspondence such as shipping memos, invoices, packing slips, and other records.
  7. Sort and distribute mail daily.
  8. Maintain cash sales daily, send paperwork to the main office, deposit checks electronically, prepare deposits, and process credit card payments.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and information.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Type at 50 wpm and operate a telephone switchboard efficiently.
  • Familiarity with trucking industry, computer systems, ten-key calculator, and large databases.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
