Summary

Under direct supervision, is responsible for receiving visitors; provides information and directions to the public.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets and directs all office visitors and answers the phone
  • routes calls to employees and/or takes and delivers messages
  • Responds to general questions or complaints from the public, customers or employees
  • Receives, opens and distributes all incoming mail
  • Maintains and monitors sign-in log
  • issues and monitors visitor passes
  • Performs general clerical duties, including the operation of office machines and computer software
  • enters and retrieves data utilizing computer software
  • Performs related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • Knowledge of and skill in applying rules of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Skill in completing tasks effectively and efficiently
  • skill in operating a personal computer and typewriter
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals utilizing tact and diplomacy
  • ability to operate basic office equipment

  • Must have valid driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance

  • Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
  • May be required to work weekends
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
