The Arizona Department of Agriculture is recruiting for a detailed oriented and dependable Receptionist / Administrative Assistant II for the Office of the Director. The position is located in downtown Phoenix and requires the employee to work in the office.
This position plays a key role for the Department of Agriculture as the front desk office receptionist and serves as an administrative assistant to the Office of the Director.
Duties to include but not limited to:
• Manage the front desk/reception area, answer phones, assist and direct visitors, handle and sort mail, schedule conference room(s) calendars, and maintain staff directory;
• Assist the Executive Assistant with administrative support tasks such as scheduling meetings, coordinating events and meetings, completing travel claims, and other general administrative support function;
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
The principles and practices of administration and management; agency or program rules, regulations and operating procedures.
Basic accounting principles
Skill in:
Verbal and written communication
Prioritizing workload – time management
Maintaining professional and interpersonal relationships
Customer Service
Excellent Phone etiquette
Ability to:
Work independently and manage multiple tasks at one time
Plan, coordinate, analyze, and develop effective operating procedures
Coordinate administrative matters between organizational units
Two (2) plus years of Receptionist / Administrative work

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Mandatory condition of Employment for all employees who meet the eligibility and membership criteria defined in statue. Current contribution rate is 12.27%. Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
