Job summary

Cancer Care Northwest is seeking a friendly and professional Front Office Receptionist in Spokane, WA. You will greet patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and ensure forms are complete and signed per policy.

The role supports clinic staff, handles insurance details, and assists with daily financial closeouts and front-office tasks. The position requires a High School Diploma and at least 3 years of customer service experience in an office setting; medical office background

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or a General Education Degree.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ customer service in an office setting.
  • It is preferred that an individual has previous medical office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
  • Obtain demographic and insurance information, and copies of insurance cards and driver's license.
  • Collect co-pays and other out-of-pocket amounts at the time of visit and balance with the deposit report.
  • Perform end-of-day financial close-out and prepare reports for the CBO.
  • Maintain lobby and coffee area in a neat, orderly manner.
  • Follow policies to contribute to front office efficiency and cover other front office duties as needed.
  • Prepare correspondence, memos, and forms as requested by supervisor.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for greeting patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Ensure all appropriate forms are complete, accurate, and signed according to company guidelines. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff. Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

  • Greet patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Obtains all appropriate forms as required.
  • Obtains demographic and insurance information. Obtains copy of patient's insurance cards and current driver's license for file. Updates demographic and insurance information as needed in the systems.
  • Collects co-pays, deductible and other out of pocket amounts at time of visit based on the Over-the-Counter collections provided by the financial counselor.
  • Performs end-of-day financial close-out.
  • Maintains lobby and coffee area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Identifies no shows and forwards for patient notification process.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
  • Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office. Covers for other front office functions as requested.
  • Prepares correspondence, memos, forms and other typing as requested by supervisor.
  • Performs end-of-day financial closeout, ensuring all collections are accounted for and are balanced with the deposit report. Prepares this to be sent to CBO.
  • Performs all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Formal Education, Certification/Licensure, and Prior Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have:

  • a High School Diploma or a General Education Degree
  • Minimum three (3) years’ customer service in an office setting
It Is Preferred That An Individual Has
  • previous medical office experience
Physical Demands
  • Regularly: sit, grasp, reach, talk and hear
  • Occasionally: stand, bend, stoop/crouch, walk, lift up to 30 pounds, pull/push up to 30 pounds, and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Vision: clearly see up to 5 feet with or without corrective lenses
Work Environment:

While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will not be exposed to any workplace environmental conditions caused by extreme noise, heat, cold, workplace hazards, atmospheric dust/fumes/vapors/mists, pathogens, or toxic chemicals.

Salary DOE $18.38 - $25.73
