Job summary

Carolinas Endoscopy Center, part of United Surgical Partners International, is hiring a Full-Time Medical Receptionist. You will greet patients, manage calls, assist with admissions, and support chart preparation in a busy GI setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of related experience, plus strong communication and basic math skills. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays and vacation.

Responsibilities

• Operates telephone system including receiving incoming calls and taking messages.
• Performs clerical duties such as mail distribution and maintaining supplies.
• Assist with chart preparation and Admissions.
• Check in pre-op patients and collect patient identification and insurance information.
• Communicate with Pre-Op nursing staff and collect patient responsibility per Insurance Verifier.
• Provide relief to Admitting, Office Assistant, and Scheduling as required.

Receptionist:

• Operates telephone system including receiving incoming calls, taking messages, identify nature of business and call.
• Performs clerical duties including distribution of mail and messages, monitoring office supplies, and maintaining postage meter.
• Assist with chart preparation.
• Assist with Admissions.
• Check in pre-op patients.
• Copy identification and insurance.
• Communication with Pre-Op nursing staff.
• Collect patient responsibility as determined by the Insurance Verifier.
• Provide relief to Admitting, Office Assistant, and Scheduling as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• One to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Communication skills: ability to effectively present information to patients, physicians, and other employees of surgery center.
• Basic math skills.
