Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System is seeking a part-time ambulatory care clerk to perform clerical, reception, scheduling and patient financial tasks in a busy outpatient setting. The role supports coordination of primary health care services to a large patient population.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in ambulatory care, basic cash handling, and familiarity with medical office procedures. Strong patient service orientation is essential; the position offers comprehensive benefits starting day one.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years in ambulatory care setting; experience in cashiering, basic account posting, billing, reception, or computer operations.
• Proficiency in medical terminology is preferred but not required.

JOB SUMMARY

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent is preferred. Previous training in general medical office skills and procedures preferred. Proficient and knowledgeable of medical terminology is preferred, but not required.
• Experience: One to two years of experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred. Experience may include cashier, basic account posting, billing, filing, reception, telephone, or computer operations.
