Job summary

Atlanta Classical Academy seeks a full-time Receptionist for its K-4 campus in Atlanta, GA. The role serves as the face of the school, greeting faculty, students, parents and guests while supporting campus security and front-office operations.

This temporary position spans January 2027 through June 1, 2028, with responsibilities including visitor management, attendance processing, and coordination with the School Nurse and carpool operations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three or more years of experience in an administrative capacity required.
• Experience in education or a charter school system is strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greets all incoming students, families, and guests professionally and directs them to the proper person.
• Tracks visitors and students checking in/out for safety.
• Process attendance notifications, excuses, and reports.
• Conduit for routine and emergency front office communications with students and parents.
• Knowledgeable on school activities, programs, and events calendar.
• Manage door access, sign-in/sign-out, and issue visitor passes.

RECEPTIONIST

Atlanta, GA Atlanta Classical Academy seeks a full-time Receptionist for its K-4 campus. This role is the “Face of Atlanta Classical Academy” who greets faculty, students, parents and guests and acts as “the gatekeeper” and critical member of the campus security team. This position reports to the Assistant Head of School.

This is a temporary position with an estimated employment term of

January 19, 2027 through June 1, 2028.

Responsibilities

• Greets all incoming students, families, and guests respectfully and professionally, determining their needs, checking scheduled appointments, and directing them to the proper person


• Tracking of visitors and students checking in and out to ensure accountability for safety evacuations


• Process attendance notifications, excuses, and reports


• Acts as the conduit for routine and emergency front office communications with students and parents


• Is knowledgeable and current on school activities, programs, and events related to the school calendar


• Answers door with remote access and/or in person, admits visitors, requires all visitors to identify themselves and sign-in; provides appropriate visitor passes and badges following school protocol


• Acts as the on-site backup Nurse, creating documentation, and coordinating with the School Nurse


• Assisting with carpool, summer office coverage, and other shared schoolwide duties

Qualifications

Atlanta Classical Academy is an open-enrollment, public charter school open to students who reside within the Atlanta Public Schools district. The school opened in 2014 with grades K-8, and has added a grade each year as students have advanced. It is now a K-12 academy. The children of full-time employees have enrollment preference.
