Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) seeks a receptionist to facilitate information flow and provide a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
You will manage a multi-line switchboard, greet visitors, and screen arrivals. The role includes clerical support for hospital personnel, coordination with the Intake department, maintaining lobby cleanliness, and ensuring confidentiality and security policies are followed.
The receptionist is responsible for facilitating the flow of the organizations information and to provide a positive, responsive environment for receiving internal and external customers via telephone and face-to-face. The receptionist operates a multi-line switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls to their appropriate destination. Greets and screens all visitors before allowing them to proceed throughout the hospital. Acts as an information center to all visitors. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Degree or equivalent. Two (2) years’ experience operating a multi-line switchboard preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITON:
Must be able to complete new hire requirements such as State of Alaska Background Check and Drug Testing.
Must be able to demonstrate special training, knowledge and skills specific to the reception desk within first three (3) months of employment.
Must complete all mandatory in-services annually.
Must be tested for Tuberculosis with a PPD skin test or chest x-ray upon hire; PPD skin test required annually or chest x-ray tri-annually thereafter.
