Job summary

Orthopedic Physicians Alaska in Eagle River is seeking a Reception Specialist to provide outstanding patient service, answer calls, schedule appointments, and support front desk operations in a fast-paced clinic.

This full-time position offers competitive pay ($18.50–$28.00 hourly) and benefits including medical and dental insurance, life and disability coverage, a 401K, paid time off, holidays, and annual reviews.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of customer service experience.
• Healthcare front desk or medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service to all patients.
• Answer patient calls, schedule appointments, and verify information.
• Perform insurance verification and prior authorizations as needed.
• Educate patients on coverage options and payment responsibilities.
• Collect deposits and co-pays; support billing and other departments.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Schedule: Tue-Fri 10:00AM-6:30PM, Sat 7:30AM-4:30PM

Your Role at OPA:

As a Reception Specialist at OPA you will greatly contribute to the team by ensuring patient needs are being met by providing outstanding customer service. As part of this role you will answer patient calls, schedule patient appointments, and complete some precertification and verification tasks.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide outstanding customer service to all patients
• Perform insurance verification and prior authorizations
• Educate patients on insurance coverage limits and options
• Work closely with the billing and other departments providing services
• Collect deposits and co-pays
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
