Job summary

Southland Industries offers an internship and new college graduate program designed to immerse students in hands-on, real-world project work. You will support project teams on smaller, less complex initiatives, learning to estimate impacts of changes and manage change orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Basic ERP skills, including inquiring, reviewing, and printing job cost reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing design.
• Basic verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office, such as Excel.

Responsibilities

• Estimate impact of project changes and inform management.
• Manage change orders, ensure accuracy and proper tracking.
• Procure equipment, materials, and services; assist in subcontractor selection.
• Stay current on emerging trends and industry practices.
• Analyze and resolve basic questions and problems as needed.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the project team on smaller, less complex projects.

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management
• Manages change orders, ensuring they are completed accurately and tracked as required
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors
• Stays current on emerging trends
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed
