Southland Industries in Maryland seeks a Project Engineer to begin a career path in project management, working on multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects and developing skills in estimating, scheduling, and design within the design-build construction process.

Responsibilities include evaluating project changes, managing change orders, procuring equipment and services, and assisting in subcontractor selection while staying current on industry trends.

Qualifications

• Basic ERP skills including inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings.
• Basic verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic computer skills including CADD and Microsoft Office products (Excel).
• Four-year degree in Engineering or applicable experience.

Position Summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to start your career path in project management? If so, Southland Industries’ Project Engineer position is for you! In this role, you will work on exciting, multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects as you develop your skills in estimating, scheduling and design within the design-build construction process.

Position Details

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
• Manages change orders. Ensure they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed

Pay

Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Maryland, this ranges from $84,000 - $87,000 yearly plus annual incentive, benefits and retirement program as outlined above.

Contingent Employment

All employment offers are contingent upon successful drug tests, background checks, and professional reference checks.
