Job summary

DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations is seeking a Receiving Technician for the Port of Alexandria facility. The role involves unloading inbound trucks, receiving materials, inspecting stock, packaging shipments, and assisting with project-based inventory in a fast-paced warehouse.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in warehouses or manufacturing. Substation experience, blueprints reading, and forklift operation are highly valued, with a strong safety mindset

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a Warehouse or Manufacturing environment.
• Substation experience is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring devices.
• Experience operating a lift truck and basic hand tools.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound trucks and receive/inspect materials.
• Package, band, bundle and wrap shipments.
• Reel/spool cable and construct wooden shipping crates.
• Perform light manufacturing tasks (drilling/cutting metals).
• Consolidate shipments by project and load outbound trucks.
• Operate forklift and other equipment safely.
• Communicate with Logistics and Project Coordinators on issues.
• Attend safety meetings and maintain a clean work area.
