Job summary

DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations is seeking a Receiving Technician to join our Port of Alexandria facility, within the Warehouse Department. The role focuses on shipping, receiving, marshaling, and inventory management for stock and project in-process items.

The incumbent reports to the Logistics Manager and is expected to maintain high quality, safety, and professionalism while ensuring timely handling before the customer receives the product.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Read and understand measuring devices such as tape measures and rules.
• Perform simple shop math (fractions, decimals, whole numbers).
• Experience with basic hand tools (wrenches, hammer, screwdriver).
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Unloading inbound trucks and receiving materials.
• Inspecting materials and packaging, banding, bundling, wrapping shipments.
• Reeling/spooling cable and constructing wooden shipping crates.
• Light manufacturing such as drilling/cutting aluminum or copper conductors.
• Consolidating shipments by project and loading outbound trucks.
• Communicating with Logistics and Project Coordinators about issues.
